This post is going to loose the interest of just about everyone, but I need to vent about computers! Last fall I thought that I would solve all of my computer woes by buying a shiny new plastic dell with 4 gigs of memory and a quad core processor. It has not run the way it should from day one. There have been maybe seven different work-stopping problems with it. I had just started to think that I may have fixed the latest crashing problem when a new problem appeared. Now it types the letter "R" constantly, making it impossible to use. In the middle of trouble shooting the computer I came to learn that my Dell is almost completely not upgradable. I believe that Dell has a disposable computer additude about their computers, and I will never purchase one from them again. (However their LCD monitors are fantastic) As I searched for a different manufacturer, none of them instilled a sense of confidence in me, or gave me any reason to believe that they are better than Dell, until I found Cyber Power. They build custom computers for gamers. I don't have any intention of becoming a gamer, but conveniently enough, running high end photo editing software puts the same strains on a computer as the latest World of Warcraft game. So after a day or teo of research I designed my dream machine. It is truely state of the art and can handle anything I throw at it, up to 7 internal hard drives, and 24 gigs of ram, which is unfathomable, for you non techies out there.
So now I just have to live without a PC untill wednesday. I am sure someone is wondering why I don't want a mac. The main reason is that if I had apply build a computer that is almost as good as the one I just ordered, it would be over $3,000 more expesive. The second reason is that the MAC OS is no longer far superior to Windows, now that Microsoft has released Windows 7.
It seems that Microsoft has finally gotten it right.
Now with the new PC in route, hopefully I will be able to get caugt up on processing all our recent weddings and maybe even have time left over to update the blog!!!!
